Plans documenting construction (1964-1965) and repair (1977) of Minneapolis' Bridge No. 9340 and construction (1962-1965) and repair (1974-1975) of St. Paul's Bridge No. 9800. No. 9340, known as the I-35W Bridge, spanned the Mississippi River from Washington Avenue on the west bank to University Avenue on the east bank and collapsed on August 1, 2007. No. 9800, known as the Lafayette Bridge, carries U.S. Highway 52 over the Mississippi River. The plans document various aspects of the bridges' construction, including piers, elevations, abutments, scales, drainage, decks, structural steel framing, splices, electrical, railings, expansion joints, trusses, spans, and bearings.
